Mahperi Sultan

Mahperi Sultan room… This room is inspired by an extraordinary woman, the wife of Seljuk Sultans Alaeddin Keykubad, ‘Mahperi Sultan’, who lived in the 13th. century. Known as “Moon queen”, Mahperi Sultan built caravanserais, medreses, mosques, hamams for the intellectual and spritiual needs of her people. The headboard used in this room was orijinally the door of a house, during the Ottoman Empire, influenced by Seljuk era art. This room symbolizes love and compassion,  as two main attributes of Mahperi Sultan.
