Mihr-i Şah Sultan room… This glamorous headboard is from the end of 1700s, from the same time when Mihr-i Şah Sultan, wife of Sultan Mustafa III. , was shinning at the Ottoman Palace. Known as the ‘Georgian beauty’, Mihr-i Şah Sultan was of Georgian origin, the daughter of a Georgian Orthodox priest. She and her son Sultan Selim III were both members of the Sufi Whirling Mystics, known as the Legendary Sufi Whirling Dervishes. Mihr-i Şah means ‘Sun of the Sultan’ and this room symbolizes the ‘affection’ and the ‘clemency’.
